A different English lesson

Today an Englishman was at school to talk to the 10th classes. Of course, only in English.

With a friendly “Hello, I´m Jim“ and a strong hand-shake he gave a warm welcome to each person who went into the “Mehrzweckraum“

As we were sitting on the chairs, Jim began to tell us old stories from China and London which had happened over a thousand years ago. He chose some people from the audience for playing the characters to make his stories more real. So the “actors“ had to imitate a mother, her children, a king and his son, some princes or  a cowboy and an Indian. There were also a cook, some doctors and a midwife. He also asked the teachers who were sitting in the room to take part in the stories. So Mr Böhm played the part of an old strange man who showed some boys the way and Mrs Anselm was a woman who was enthusiastic about the medicine of a bush-woman.

In one hour Jim told us more than five stories. At the end we all applauded and he went to the door again to shake hands with each of us and say “Goodbye“

I want to thank Mr Jim for this interesting and very funny lesson and I hope he will come back next year to tell his stories to next year’s 10th classes.
